Of Imaginations In Your Absence

Lately, I've been living in different worlds.
In one of those worlds is a gazebo by the beach, always a sunset.
The splashing of the waves as they rush to the shore soothes me.
I can taste the saltiness in the soft breeze.
There you are, running along the berm scarp.
I smiled as you approach, as if in slow motion.
I cannot help but notice how your sweaty arms and shoulders glistened against the afternoon sun.
*poof*
I am jolted back to my reality.
Here I am, holing my cup.
My coffee is warm.
But my heart turned cold.
